Celebration(s)!

Today is my husband's birthday.
Yesterday was my brother's birthday.
In 4 days is my sister's birthday.
Lots of celebrations to be had.

We kicked it off early last weekend with a trip to an orchard to pick peaches and cherries. It was super hot, but fun. Lots of walking, too. But it's always good to get some exercise.
Our main goal was to hit the beach, but we stopped on our way to do a little truffle tasting. They were delish! I'm upset because I bought some and they melted in the car and I didn't get to enjoy them at all. Oh well, maybe next time. The place is only an hour and a half from my parent's house, so hopefully we'll go back soon.
After the truffle tasting, we headed to the beach. I had a blast. I love swimming, love being in the water. Not crazy about the sunburn, but luckily, it wasn't so bad this time. I can't say the same for my brother, as he ended up getting buried in the sand, and knocked out. His shoulders were left exposed,  and so he paid dearly for that later. I really enjoyed myself, and they seemed to as well.

This past weekend, we had a BBQ at my parent's house to celebrate my brother and husband. My dad bought everything and even treated us to ice cream at our favorite place afterwards. Small and simple celebration, but it was appreciated.
Sunday we ended up going to see a screening of a short-film written & produced by my cousin's husband. It's in the horror genre, and though that's not really my thing, we wanted to support family. We don't see each other too often, so it was nice to show up and let him know that at the end of the day, we will always support him and we are happy and excited for his accomplishments. The movie itself was good. There was an interesting twist at the end. We also got free gelato, what's not to love? Oh, and the screening was held at a cool collectible store, and so of course, my husband ended up walking away with some new KISS merchandise. That man is obsessed, I tell ya.

Today is my husband's actual birthday, and we're having dinner at his favorite type of restaurant, a Brazilian steakhouse. He is a meat-eater to the core and he is looking forward to unlimited meat. I actually am not crazy about those type of places because I hate the waiters constantly coming to my table and interrupting my eating, but I go for him.

Saturday we are celebrating my sister's bday by having some tapas. I think that is also the day my in-laws are having dinner and a cake for my husband's bday, so my schedule is going to be tight, or I'm going to have to blow somebody off. I have a pretty good idea of what I'm doing on that day, but we'll see. Ole!

I'll try to take some pictures to share, reading all this text can't be too fun. But I find myself enjoying the moment too much to stop and take pictures. That's always a good sign, right? I know people who document their every single move on social media and I wonder how much fun they're actually having if they can't even stop taking pictures and checking in on Facebook for one second. I guess it's a good sign I never take pictures then, I must be having a blast!
